Compare roofing estimates with confidence.
There is no verified universal price for an Ontario roof. Size, slope, access, materials and the underlying work all matter. We do not publish an invented city average. The most useful comparison is a set of written estimates for the same inspected scope.
What changes a roofing estimate?
| Factor | Question to ask |
|---|---|
| Roof size and geometry | Which sections and measurements are included? |
| Removal and disposal | How many layers are being removed and what is included? |
| Decking repairs | What is the allowance or unit rate, and who approves extra work? |
| Materials and roof system | Which products, flashing and underlayment are specified? |
| Access and protection | Are staging, property protection and clean-up included? |
| Related work | Are gutters, skylights or ventilation priced separately? |
Compare a repair against a repair.
A temporary response, a local repair and a full replacement solve different scopes. If one quote is much cheaper, check the work described before interpreting it as better value. Ask whether the inspection, materials and workmanship terms are comparable.
Keep an estimate comparison worksheet.
For each contractor, write down the inspected scope, materials, exclusions, extra-work procedure, tax treatment, deposit, payment stages, start window and warranty documents. Resolve unclear items before signing.
Confirm the agreement.
Ontario provides consumer guidance on renovation estimates and written contracts. Review the current official guidance for your situation and make sure the final agreement reflects what you understood from the estimate.

Choose a city, review advertised services and contact relevant businesses. Our owner-reviewed request form is another way to register your project, but it does not produce an instant price or guarantee a contractor match.
